(…) Viščević, today 37 years old, succeeded in something that few manage to do – turning his hobby into a profession he lives by. His company is one of only five or six in Croatia specialized precisely in numismatics, an auxiliary historical science that deals with the study of ancient and modern coins and paper money, as well as money-related objects.
Viščević, as he says, is interested in reasonably modern money, and in his case, collecting—or “building” a collection—is not the motivating factor driving him. That is only logical, given that he makes a living from numismatics, so he cannot get too attached to coins and banknotes. What drives him is the story behind those banknotes. (…)
