This Privacy Policy explains how the NumizmatikaNET portal collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when visiting the website. https://numizmatika.net, during your participation in our surveys, and during your membership and interaction in our official Facebook groups. Your privacy is extremely important to us, and we are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable regulations of the Republic of Croatia.

2. What personal data we collect and why
Website comments. When visitors leave a comment on the website, we collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor's IP address and string browser user agent in order to more easily detect and prevent Spam (spam). It is possible that anonymized string generated from your email address and sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible.
Surveys and research. When we conduct research and surveys (for example, on numismatics in Croatia via Google Forms), participation is completely voluntary. Responses are collected anonymously for statistical purposes. If at the end of the survey you are offered the option to leave an e-mail address to download digital material (e.g., a PDF book or catalog), that entry is voluntary. Your e-mail address is processed based on your consent and serves exclusively for the delivery of the material, without being linked to your anonymous responses.
Facebook groups and membership. As administrators of the listed Facebook groups, we process certain personal data of the members to ensure a safe environment for professional numismatic discussions, the exchange of information on literature, and collecting.
- Collected data: When submitting a request to join and during your participation in the groups, we have access to your public Facebook profile (first name, last name, profile picture), answers to membership questions, and the content you post and comment within the group.
- Purpose of processing: We process the data for the purpose of approving membership, moderating posts in accordance with group rules, preventing spam, and addressing any violations of community guidelines.
- Legal basis: The processing is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6, paragraph 1, point (f) of the GDPR) in managing and moderating the online community gathered around the study and collection of historical coins and related literature.
Cookies.
- Comments: Option to save name, email, and website in cookies (duration: 1 year).
- Login: Setting temporary cookies for browser verification, as well as cookies for login and display settings (duration: from 2 days to 1 year).
- Article editing: Saving the ID of the edited post (duration: 1 day).
Embedded content from other websites. Articles may contain embedded content (videos, images, social media links). Such content behaves as if you have visited another website, which may collect data about you according to its own privacy policy.
3. Who we share your data with
We do not sell, rent, or disclose your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be shared in the following situations:
- Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Facebook): Regarding the management of our Facebook groups, we act as Joint controllers with Meta. Meta collects and processes data at the platform level in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Your interaction with the Facebook platform and its infrastructure are beyond our direct control.
- Google Forms: The survey infrastructure relies on a Google service.
- Security services: Comments on the portal can be checked via an automated spam detection service.
4. How long we store your data
- Facebook groups: Your membership-related data (posts, comments) are visible in groups as long as you are a member, or until you or the administrators remove the post. Answers to membership questions are deleted shortly after the request to join is approved or denied.
- Comments on the web: They are stored permanently for automatic recognition of future comments.
- Surveys and promotional materials: Email addresses collected exclusively for sending digital materials are deleted from our records no later than 30 days after the completion of the survey or after successful delivery.
5. What rights you have over your data
At any time you have the right to request:
- Access and insight: Confirming whether we are processing your data and the export file.
- Correction: Modification of incorrect data.
- Erase (“right to be forgotten”): Deletion of the data we hold about you (except for what we are required to retain for legal or security reasons).
- Withdrawal of consent: Discontinuation of the use of your email address provided through surveys.
Exercising rights on Facebook: Since our groups are hosted on Facebook, you exercise most of your rights (such as deleting posts, leaving the group, or editing your profile) directly through your Facebook account settings, over which the NumizmatikaNET portal has no technical control.

6. Where your data and security are sent
Your data is primarily processed within the European Economic Area (EEA). In cases where platforms such as Facebook or Google are used, data may be transferred outside the EEA, but these service providers are committed to applying standard contractual clauses and appropriate safeguards required by the GDPR.
