In preparation: Coins and Banknotes of Yugoslavia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia, 3rd edition, 2026.

The 3rd edition of the most important numismatic catalog for coins and banknotes in the territory of the former Yugoslavia is in preparation!

Second edition of the book “Coins and banknotes of Yugoslavia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, and Macedonia”represented the most comprehensive and detailed numismatic catalog for currency in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. This edition included all coin and paper money issues from 1848 to 2011. The catalog was later supplemented with an addendum covering new issues up to 2015.

The printed book sold out quickly, and for the last 13 years only the e-book in PDF format has been available for purchase.

Since the book has not been reprinted since 2011, but remained at its original print run, it has become a sort of “rarity” on the numismatic market and, as some say, a collector's item. Namely, those who would decide to sell it are rare, and even when it did appear for sale, it immediately “disappeared.” According to the latest information, the market price for such used copies ranged from 150-170 EUR, and there were individuals who were willing to pay 200 EUR for it. Otherwise, upon release, the price of the book was 40 EUR.

For quite some time now, there has been a sort of “pressure” from the numismatic community asking for a new edition. Every now and then, inquiries come in: “When is the new book coming out?”; “Are you working on something?”; “Do you have any more of these printed ones?”; “I would buy the new edition when it comes out,” and the like. People are clearly eager for literature and publications, which is certainly positive in every respect.

Work on the 3rd edition actually started back in 2017 and proceeded with varying intensity. A great deal has been done and the book was brought to about 80% completion, but the remaining 20% never seemed to find the time until now. Since working on the book requires concentration and dedication, this means a kind of self-isolation from all possible distractions is also necessary. However, at some point you just have to take the plunge, come what may. And now that moment has arrived – to put everything else aside and publish the book.

Intensive work is underway to complete the 3rd edition of the catalog “Coins and Banknotes of Yugoslavia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, and Macedonia” and the plan is for the book to be finished in the second half of 2026.
