It is a great honor and pleasure to speak with people who have made history, especially history that is a subject of one's interest. One of those people is the academic sculptor, university professor, and academician Kuzma Kovačić, the man who visually designed the kuna and lipa coins.
In this video interview, we have the opportunity to hear “firsthand” how our modern Croatian coins were created, from the initial sketches and drawings all the way to the minting itself. Academician Kovačić also spoke about his relationship with this great work of his, and had the opportunity to hear what the kuna and lipa mean to the numismatic community.
As part of this interview, some of the sketches and plaster models for our coins were also shown.
