This video is part of a series on Dubrovnik coinage where in each video we present one coin of the Republic of Ragusa. The Stari Vižlin is an example of a Dubrovnik thaler-sized silver coin with a nominal value of 60 dinars or dinarići.
The designer of the visual arts for this coin was Niko Matov Fišević (or Fišić). The obverse of the coin features a bust of the Rector of Dubrovnik looking to the left and the inscription: RECTOR REIP RHACVSIN. On the reverse is the large ornate coat of arms of the Republic of Dubrovnik and the inscription: DUCAT ET SEM REIP RHAC.
