The 25 para aluminum coin from 1953 is one of the rarest specialties of Yugoslav numismatics. It is a coin that was intended to be the smallest denomination in the coin series of the FPR Yugoslavia from 1953. However, it was never put into circulation, and the entire emission was melted down in 1965 at the „Bane Sekulić“ company in Sombor.
Only a few copies have been preserved. Allegedly, there are only three copies on the numismatic market, and one of them is presented in this video.
Basic characteristics: Composition: 99% Al; Diameter: 19 mm; Weight: 0.63 g; Rotation: mint (↑↑).
On the face is a five-pointed star decorated with ornaments with a hole in the center, surrounded by the inscription in the Latin alphabet: „FEDERATIVNA NARODNA REPUBLIKA JUGOSLAVIJA“.
On the reverse is the denomination marking „25“ and below, in a semicircle, in Cyrillic: „PARA“. Above the denomination marking are 7 five-pointed stars. Below the first and last star is the year marking „19“ (on the left) and „53“ (on the right).
The edge of the coin is smooth.
