Today we are presenting one of the greatest rarities of modern Croatian numismatics; a coin that many thought was just a part of stories and legends, and that it didn't even actually exist. We are talking about the 2 kuna coin from 1993 where the letter „T“ from the inscription „TUNJ“ is below the fish's tail. This is actually the first strike of the 2 kuna coin, which was supposed to be released into circulation as such. However, after the first specimens were struck, an objection was raised that the inscription on the coin looked a bit stretched and that it would be better if it were „connected.“ That objection was accepted, and the coins that were familiar to all of us were struck—the ones with the connected inscription „TUNJ.“.
