Overview of commemorative coins: Croatia 4, 10, and 100 euros 2024. Brusnik black lizard

In this video, we present the new Croatian commemorative euro coins dedicated to one of our indigenous animal species, the Brusnik black lizard (Podarcis melisellensis melisellensis). This coin series is part of the „Indigenous Croatia“ series and consists of two gold coins (100 and 10 euros) and one silver coin (4 euros). The author of the excellent artistic design for these coins is our renowned sculptor Nikola Vudrag.

Although colored coins in numismatics are still a subject of controversy—some adore them while others despise them—in this particular example, it must be admitted that the colored lizard on the 100-euro gold coin is an absolute bullseye. If colored coins already exist, they should take this exact Croatian gold coin as their role model.

This video was recorded in March 2024 and produced for documentary and educational purposes. The video is not sponsored, but was created on the initiative of NumizmatikaNET, and the Croatian Mint provided the coins for filming, for which we thank them.
